Water-based systems are widely used in coatings, inks, adhesives, sealants, construction coatings, industrial coatings, paper and textile finishes, and environmentally friendly applications where low VOC, ease of cleanup, and good performance are essential. However, formulating with these systems presents unique challenges: organic and inorganic pigment and filler dispersion, viscosity reduction at high solids loading, carbon black and conductive carbon black dispersion, settling and sagging, surface tension reduction and crater prevention, foam generation, and compatibility in aqueous media. Additives must be carefully selected to maintain compatibility with water-based resins without adversely affecting storage stability, gloss, levelling, pH stability, or final film properties.

Dispersants

l KBS-F0700 is a block acrylate dispersant designed for water-based systems. It is a universal dispersant for both organic and inorganic pigments and fillers, providing reliable dispersion and stabilization in a broad range of aqueous formulations.

l KBS-F0710 is a block acrylate dispersant for water-based systems. Detailed technical characteristics are available upon request.

l KBS-F0720 is a block acrylate dispersant. It is a universal dispersant for organic and inorganic pigments and fillers, offering excellent viscosity reduction and stability for high-concentration inorganic pigment and filler slurries. It is particularly suitable for water-based systems requiring high solids loading and long-term stability.

l KBS-F2100 is an acid-containing copolymer solution dispersant. It provides viscosity reduction for high-concentration inorganic pigments and fillers, making it suitable for water-based formulations where high filler loading and processability are required.

l KBS-F2200 is an acid-containing group copolymer solution dispersant for water-based systems. Detailed technical characteristics are available upon request.

l KBS-F2720 is a block copolymer dispersant. It is specifically designed for the dispersion of carbon black, conductive carbon black, and macromolecular organic pigments. It provides excellent dispersion and stability in water-based systems where carbon black or conductive fillers are used.

l KBS-F1900A is a block copolymer dispersant. It is an alkali-resistant dispersant, especially suitable for the dispersion of alkaline fillers, and is a general-purpose dispersant for both organic and inorganic pigments. It is recommended for water-based systems where alkaline fillers or high pH conditions are present.

Anti-sinking Thixotropic Agents

l KBS-C420K is an organic polyurea anti-sinking thixotropic agent. It provides excellent anti-sinking and thixotropic effects without affecting gloss and levelling, and has little effect on system viscosity. It is suitable for water-based systems requiring sag control and pigment/filler suspension without compromising appearance.

l KBS-C5610 is a salt of modified polyamide anti-sinking thixotropic agent. It has a good anti-sinking effect on pigment fillers with large specific gravity and provides orientation performance, with little effect on system viscosity. It is particularly useful in water-based formulations containing dense fillers where both anti-settling and orientation are required.

Wetting and Levelling Agents

l KBS-L4220 is a polyether silicone wetting and levelling agent. It effectively reduces static surface tension and improves shrinkage hole (crater) formation, making it suitable for water-based coatings, inks, and adhesives where surface defects must be minimized.

l KBS-L4120 is a polyether-modified silicone wetting and levelling agent. It strongly reduces static surface tension and maintains good stability even at pH > 12. It is particularly suitable for alkaline water-based systems where conventional wetting agents may lose effectiveness.

Defoamers

l KBS-X4140 is an alkyne glycol derivative defoamer. It offers good compatibility, good foam inhibition and defoaming performance, and excellent overall performance. It is suitable for a broad range of water-based systems where both compatibility and foam control are required.

l KBS-X062A is an organosiloxane polymer defoamer. It combines defoaming and compatibility, making it suitable for water-based formulations where silicone-based foam control is desired without causing surface defects or compatibility issues.
